The origins behind this image are utterly fascinating.
This is not a soviet built tank despite what the meme implies, it is actually a chinese built tank, a T-69-2 to be more specific.
What you don’t see in the image are the further 24 tanks that are also on the barge about to dropped into the water as well.
These tanks are being dropped in on personal orders by Queen Sirikit, the queen mother of thailand.
No, for those worried, this was not them discarding old unusable tanks, at least in this instance. Rather, each of these tanks have selected and prepared to make an artificial reef. Rather than melt them down for scrap, in 2010 there were pushed into the water off the gulf of siam to create a home for hundreds of sea creatures. All the internals are gutted, including the engine and transmission, don’t worry.
If you looks a little closer into the image, you’ll see that all the hatches are open or removed, probably to make room for sea life.

Thousands people are protesting RIGHT NOW. Just imagine what’s happening: people with no combat experience, men with children and literal boys are forced to fight people they have NO REASON to fight. Thousands and thousands of senseless deaths. No one wants this war, it’s just a meat grinder, entertainment for P*tin.
And let’s not forget about police brutality during these protests. We already know about some deaths. And of course no one will be judged for this, of course not.
By the way, you should know that by making this post I am literally breaking the law, because speaking negatively about our government is now punishable by prison. Going to protests - illegal. Refusing to participate in military operations - illegal. If you went to war but refused to fight or want to surrender - they’ll kill you.
It’s fucking disgusting, I can’t sleep because of this shit. Yesterday I heard some explosions (it was some military training), they were kinda far from me but it was so fucking scary, I can’t fucking imagine what it’s like for my Ukrainian relatives who hear and see this shit every day. My family is safe, but we don’t know what might happen to them tomorrow.
And a few of my friends were called up for military service TODAY. And they don’t know what to do, they’re trying to move somewhere else but it’s so fucking complicated and they might end up in a jail if they do it but they’ll still choose this instead of killing someone. And my ex volleyball teacher was called up too and he has 3 children and his wife doesn’t work and it’s so fucked up.
Oh and of course we can only find out about deaths during protests, new laws that appear every day and just…. real information?.. only on sites that are blocked here and you can visit them only with VPN
